THE 337th REGIMENTAL SHIELD
This is the regimental Shield, which we wore so proudly during World War II, and which even now is worn by the 337th Infantry Combat Team in Waukegan, Illinois and the surrounding towns in the area.
The Shield had gold squares and an Infantry Blue. background with a Wolverine in the center of the shield. The Wolverine (which Is the symbol of the Slate of Michigan. where the 337th originated during World War I at Camp Ouster, Mich.) Is a North American mammal, noted for its strength and cunning, and pound for pound. one of the fightingest animals in North America.
